Richard Thrives at Home with Landis at Home

At 91 years of age, Richard Keller still enjoys hosting company in his home. He likes sharing about his family and his late wife, Dolly, who he was married to for 64 years. Originally from Bellewood, PA, Richard recounts his time as a Korean war veteran and especially his career with General Electric developing microwaves as a process control engineer.

Richard also likes to share about his Landis at Home caregivers and how they assist him with activities of daily living around his home in Manheim, PA.

“We had an in-home care service coming in for my late wife, Dolly. After my wife passed away and some changes happened with the insurance, the service we were using was discontinued. A nurse recommended the Office of Aging who directed me to Landis at Home. I’ve been very pleased with their services. They are like clockwork, always on time,” Richard shared.

Richard and Dolly enjoyed traveling, especially to Vermont. They would take bus trips. Their lives were also filled with family which includes grandchildren and one great-grandchild so far. His family still visits and surrounds him with love and laughter, but now that he’s older, he needs help doing a few things around the house.

“They (Landis at Home caregivers) help me with my laundry, changing lightbulbs, and dusting the areas I can’t reach. They also prep my lunch on the days they’re here. One of the biggest things is that when they leave, they always ask if there’s anything else they can do to help. I would definitely recommend Landis at Home to others.”
